We are delighted to have taken a repeat order for three TORBED Dryers to be used for drying potato granules. Although at 4.5m in diameter they are of significant size, they are far smaller than belt dryers or rotary drum dryers of equivalent capacity. Designed to process up to 15 tonnes per hour of potato granules removing just over 3.5 tonnes of water per hour to produce a product that has 2% moisture, the TORBED Dryers rapid heat transfer and control ensures an evenly processed product with a minimum hardening of the surface, making the resulting product highly flexible.
This marks a key point of contrast between TORBED processors and alternative technologies such as industrial belt dryers and rotary kilns and illustrates their effectiveness in handling high volumes of fragile materials.
